For over 6–8 months, the damaged road from Nangloi–Najafgarh to Bakkarwala Colony (DDA Flats) has remained in a dangerous condition. The road, which should serve as a major connectivity route for thousands of commuters, has now become a risk zone, especially during the rainy season.

Current Road Condition

  • Only one side of the road is functional, but that too is filled with potholes and cracks.

  • The entire stretch is uneven, causing severe slowdowns and damage to vehicles.

  • During rainfall, waterlogging hides potholes, creating accident-prone zones.

  • Traffic is forced to move on only one side of the road, while the other side remains completely broken.

  • Unfortunately, the usable side is also full of potholes, cracks, and uneven surfaces, making driving and walking extremely unsafe.

  • This road is a lifeline for thousands of commuters, yet no visible repair work has been initiated.

Rainy Season Problems

  1. Severe waterlogging – Rainwater accumulates in broken patches, making the road unusable.

  2. Hidden potholes – Drivers cannot see the depth of potholes under water, increasing accident risks.

  3. Traffic chaos – With one side of the road completely broken, the single side gets flooded and choked, causing long jams.

  4. Two-wheeler danger – Scooters and bikes often skid due to slippery mud and potholes filled with water.

  5. Health issues – Stagnant water near the broken road becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, raising the risk of diseases.

Impact on Commuters

  1. Daily traffic jams – as vehicles struggle to pass through the broken stretch.

  2. Increased accidents – especially for two-wheelers and school-going children.

  3. Damage to vehicles – constant wear and tear due to potholes.

  4. Emergency risks – ambulances and essential services are delayed.

Authorities’ Negligence

Despite repeated complaints from residents of Nangloi, Najafgarh, and Bakkarwala Colony, neither MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) nor DDA (Delhi Development Authority) has taken meaningful steps to repair this road. A critical connectivity road has been ignored for over half a year, leaving commuters helpless.

Why Immediate Action is Needed

  • This road is a lifeline for students, office workers, emergency vehicles, and traders.

  • The condition during the monsoon is not just inconvenient, but a serious safety hazard.

  • Immediate repair, drainage setup, and resurfacing are urgently required before the situation worsens further.

Residents’ Demand

  • Immediate road repair and resurfacing to ensure safe travel.

  • Proper drainage system to prevent waterlogging and further road damage.

  • Regular maintenance checks so that such long delays don’t happen again.

Why This Road Matters

The Nangloi–Najafgarh to Bakkarwala Colony stretch is not just a local lane—it is a key link road used by office-goers, school buses, emergency vehicles, and local businesses. A broken road here affects thousands of lives daily.
